Virtual Research Program
Research Reimagined
COUHR’s goal as a not-for-profit organization is to provide science students from underrepresented groups throughout Canadian universities with health research experience.
Story
Underrepresented is a broad term and encompasses aspects such as learning disabilities, socioeconomic status and language barriers to name only a few. Therefore, the COUHR team has not defined the term and would like to invite you, the applicant, to describe to us in your application how you are underrepresented and the obstacles you have faced. Research positions through COUHR are competitive with limited spots and given based on a holistic review of your application.
Details
The program is a 16-week remote research experience in a clinical/epidemiological setting. You will be put into a team with other successful applicants under the supervision of a student leader and a principal investigator. The program is supplemented with mandatory biweekly workshops to aid your team's knowledge in research and problem-solving skills, run by experienced student researchers and faculty members. By the end of the program, your team is expected to submit or publish a written abstract at a conference.
